Outdoor Design Studio has gone "inside" with beautiful upscale home accessory decor for the kitchen, dining area, home office and sportsmans den. Keeping with our eco-responsible tradition for over 15 years, The Raging Oak original designs are carved from California Oak, reclaimed from burnt out forests, and fallen trees, breathing new life into this beautiful species.
ONE-OF-A-KIND RUSTIC STYLE WALL-MOUNTED GUN RACKS There are four distinctive styles, each displaying your trophy rifle, with a frontier ranch appeal:
|
- The Plainsman keeps a simple rural design, while utilizing the rustic woodgrain to emphasize its' beauty.
- The Drover uses vertical saddle brackets to allow the rifle to ride below the inlay.
- The Sportsman uses vertical saddle brackets with fine handtooled holster leather.
- The Dude Rancher features handtooled leather Spur Straps to cradle your rifle.

The natural yet rich combination of Oak, Leather, and Brass create a warm and inviting appeal not only as a display gun rack, but also a tasteful wall decor art piece. Each rack is unique unto itself because of knots, shake, grain & pitch from the tree which it's born, making it truly one of a kind.
We invite the opportunity to make custom gun racks, tailored to your specific taste and need. The Raging Oak, where "one of a kind" is a good hand to have!

The California Oak is an obscure non commercial species, a non renewable resource, and is not forested for any purpose, private or commercial. When fallen to wildfires and natural causes, these trees are cut up for firewood, ground into sawdust and disposed of at landfills, or just left to decay on California mountainsides, which creates Co2, carbon monoxide and greenhouse gases.
Reclaiming this precious species and rejuvenating its usefulness has produced a "pedigree" and a provenance of California resources. Traditionally, Oak furniture, architectural elements, doors and home decor accessories, are milled from harvested forests in other regions of the country and internationally.
There is no compromise to the beauty of our California Oak, and it could be said any other species is somewhat pedestrian, and homogenized in comparison. Intelligent planning, and well developed designs allow this species a life to its full measure, and a legacy as "The Raging Oak".
By keeping the rustic nature of its knots, shake and grain integrated into our designs each piece has a signature of its own, and will become an heirloom to any location it finds a home.
Our mill reclaims these trees, before they are decayed or processed, and recycles the logs into beautiful slabs, which are then kiln dried for structural integrity. Each slab produces one of a kind, objects of art. The limited supply of this precious resource is cautiously preserved for generations to come as uniquely carved and crafted elements for the home.

Entry doors and gates use old school mortise and tenon joinery, and are finished with only natural tung tree or mineral oils, and thinned with citrus juices. Our collection of home elements include old fashioned "chopping blocks", cutting boards, kitchen pot racks, utensil holders and a variety of wine racks and olive oil racks.
We are working with Architects and Designers to develop kitchen islands, door and window casements, stair millwork, and fireplace mantles. Please contact us to work together on a project you may find use for the "raging oak".
